All our yesterdays...
Hi chaps..
Some of you will know, the majority will not, that I recently lost both my parents.. less than 6 weeks separated their passing. Dad went first aged 83.. he'd have been 84 in Nov.. and Mom went aged 81.. her birthday was in March. Mom's funeral is this coming Wed and we can then begin to put a line under that particular part of our lives.. that is, when we had parents.
While sorting through 'stuff' (as one has to) a number of emotive photo's are being unearthed and I thought it might be nice to have a thread dedicated to us all.. as we still remember ourselves as young pup's. To that end, I'm posting this shot.. taken in what was and still is.. the family home. I have a number of others.. some involving aircrart that I'll post when I've scanned them, so.. if you have any 'like' phots sitting around doing nowt that remind you of your youth.. perhaps you might like to post them here too
This one is how I remember Dad. He was always 'so big'.. I was always 'so small'. Our Boxer.. Bruce, was just MASSIVE. He wasn't really but he seemed that way
Don't be afraid to join in. There's nowt like a bit of nostalgia to make you feel better

I to sometimes take a look at family pics that seem always get stashed away. Here's a shot of
my father when he was in the RN, he crossed the bar in 1993. I believe he was just 19 then in or about

Just another one that for me has many mixed emotions, when at 15 years old I was "marched" through
those infamous gates.

To DaveB
My sincerest condolences Dave - almost lost my dad a couple of weeks ago, similar sort of age - so I can't begin to think how you must feel losing both parents.
Great photo of him - I hope it brought back some happy memories for you so thank you for sharing that

When they've always been there and for such a long time, somehow you expect they always will be
My thoughts be with you as they have been with Dave through out these last months.
