That's just the sort of comment I would have expected ...DaveB wrote:Expect the unexpected
Whilst we're on the subject of gallery content, could we have another look at the 800x600 limit on pics? Eric's pics have shown that a 1024 width can give a much better impact than an 800.
I'm assuming that the original limit was because of standard monitor size in days gone by. Now that the majority have much wider monitors that restriction is probably no longer necessary. But of course, that may not be the reason anyway

Re: Gallery content
Hi Ian
I use 800 x 600 and that fine, sharp and big enough
Any bigger and I have to scroll across.
There is no reason I can see why pics need to be any bigger the 800x600
I can't even see that properly on the laptop....the RH edged bleeds off.

Re: Gallery content
Ah yes, Garry. We've been here before in the dim and distant past, haven't we? I forgot
I think the limitation is in the frame size of the forum and nothing to do with the monitor. I just played about with picture sizes and the right edge does disappear if you go much beyond 800 pixels.
As you were, chaps! I'll go back to sleep

Hi Garry and Ian.You are correct about the right edge cut off on my pictures, very noticeable in the one showing the red lifebouy holder at the Forth bridge. What puzzled me was that I resized all my shots to 800 by 600 on Photobucket before linking here.Apologies if this caused any problems.ATB EricT

Re: Gallery content
On the laptop the cutoff is severe with about a third missing from the RH side.
The PC is just about all there

The RH side of lifebouy holder is very similar to the LH side anyway! EricTOn the laptop the cutoff is severe with about a third missing from the RH side
