Thanks for those Keith, that's another place on my bucket list. I know you wouldn't miss it, so what's happened to the Scimitar they had?

Thanks, Jon, interesting set you've posted
How the dickens did Dave know that it was Intrepid? Is it the only one with a Rolling Stones logo for an anchor?

Brilliant photos John, pity I don't live near enough to visit after seeing all those pics.

Hi Paul,Paul K wrote:Great pictures, Jon, thanks for posting. USS Intrepid is high on my list of Colonial places of interest to visit. By any chance, did you note whether the boiler and engine rooms are open to visitors ?
I'm afraid that nothing lower than the hanger deck is open. I did see a very strongly worded criticism of the museum lamenting this fact. Seemed a bit over the top.
The tour of the Growler goes through the engine room . . . . I appreciate that it's not quite the same.
Paulsi given some of the things I've been called, Keith really isn't a problem.

Thanks for the info, Jon. Shame you can't go down the pit - even HMS Belfast has one boiler room and engine room open. Oh well.
Re: Holiday Photos. Not the boring ones.
Maybe Jon's SWMBO would'va liked to stick him in the pit after finding out he ditched her... Jon would have been the happier for it..
Re: Holiday Photos. Not the boring ones.
Thanks for worrying about my marriage Joe but it worked out well. We were on an organised guided trip so Rita got to go to Harlem, the Bronx and Brooklyn with the rest of the group while I visited Intrepid which was great as she gets bored in aircraft museums, can't imagine why.
The original plan was to go together during one of the free afternoons but there really wasn't enough time. Luckily.
