is This Package Good And Legit?
Shalom and greetings all my pals,
Surprised to see this package as seen on the enclosed hyperlink outside of official download center of CBFSIM.
Is this package good and legit? Does CBFsim approve of this or authorizes this?
https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads ... d-package/
Thanks,
Aharon

Re: is This Package Good And Legit?
I cannot speak for CBFS, but I have a same named file in my HD the size is reported slightly smaller at 103767Kb. The exe file is named Simshed-Nimrod.exe. So I am supposing it may have been authorized by the folk at Simshed which is now defunct. I'm going to install it and just see how good it is.

I just remembered why I don't sim anymore. 5 minutes into FSX and BSOD. SIck to death wasting my time.

BSOD’s are hardware / drivers Alex, not the program itself. What are your PC specs?
Ben.
Re: is This Package Good And Legit?
The Nimrod wasn’t a CBFS package, it was SimShed. When Brian finished SimShed a few years ago I seem to remember he released the old models as freeware for the community.

Downloaded and installed this last night.
It is the old Simshed Nimrod and it still looks good in P3D v6!
So, Ahron it is OK, and thanks for reminding me that it still existed - and works.

Personally I don't like FlyawaySimulation, they have a habit of uploading stuff without permission.

Apologies Aharon for miss-spelling your name in my last post.

Thanks all for kind answers. I just want to be sure it is not illegal copy.
I did not know there are two different Nimod model bases by CBFsim and Simshed. How are they different?? Which one is better??
Vancouver, thanks for sparing time from your busy schedule to install and test it. Sorry to hear about your computer crash. I hope it did not ruin your pc.
Buggyman, Nice to meet you on CBFsim forums and thanks for sparing time from your busy schedule to install and test it. No need to apologize for misspelling my name. It is harmless oversight. Glad to hear that Nimod works well in your pc.
I have never heard of Simshed. Is it British company???
Regards,
Aharon

We don't host a Nimrod on CBFS (as far as I can remember), however we host Dave Maltby Comets, which the Nimrod was developed from. Actually, the 2 prototype aircraft were built from 2 unsold Comet 4c airframes
I was a second year apprentice working on the last Nimrod to be built at Broughton (Chester) on the old Comet track.
Within 6 months the jigs were out, and the new jigs were being fitted for the A300 wings
