Our neighbours joined us in the 8 pm applause last night.
It occurred to me that we have our own British form of applause. (British Clap is obviously something else!!!)
Most forum members will have seen the film "The Italian Job" and will recall the clap-clap,clap-clap-clap, clap-clap-clap, clap, clap-clap, rendered with hands and pots and pans when Noel Coward parades down the prison stairs towards the end of the film.
Today the Italian population salute their health workers with songs - our most pertinent British, from the same film, which people may choose to accompany their applause for our people, is "This is the self preservation society" sung on the coach just prior to the teetering on a cliff edge scene.
STAY AT HOME - STAY SAFE.
Applause for the NHS staff.

We also had a good turnout in our village. A little too noisy with people banging on saucepans etc. But good fun.
