I'm a big fan of Hornets and rather hoped the RCAF would buy the Super Hornets over this F-35 thing but that is not to be. Without being too political, I had read previously that due to Canada's harsh enviroment and long endurance times patrolling the frozen north for those naughty Russkies that twin engines and a proven airframe were essential. Seemingly not. *-)

Saw the Su-27 (maybe) at Cosford some years ago and remember being surprised at the sheer size of them :worried: . Daft I know but seeing them in books and models doesn't translate to real life. Sadly it was a static display only.

Interesting to see that the Russians don't use steam catapults.
I have seen UK carrier(s) with the upward-sloping deck; is this the widely accepted way of launching now?
