High Flyers

Post by Molyned »

Whilst watching the excellent documentary 'High Flyers' (see the Glory Days thread in Gallery) I spotted my next project. It's the Airspeed Courier.
It became well known when "Cobham's early experiments with in-flight refuelling were based on a specially adapted Airspeed Courier.
This craft was eventually modified by Airspeed to Cobham's specification, for a non-stop flight from London to India, using in-flight refuelling to extend the aeroplane's flight duration."

Couldn't agree more!
I love the Oxford. :excited:
I did one in FSDS, but it was less than successful, partly due to being able to see through the entire airframe when looking through the bomb aimer perspex etc. :wall:

Toilet arrangements must have been interesting on that non-stop to India. Good job it was going to and not coming from.

This aircraft would be perfect for flights to and from India. It's an Airspeed Curry-er. :hide:
