Re: Spitfire VR Cockpit

Big day tomorrow, to see if it all works. Still some work to do on the airframe itself - instrument panel and internal fittings and then the fitting of the PC etc etc. I gave up on home simming after the release of the A2A T-6, but now am doing it at work. We have a wonderful up to date system with ...

Re: Spitfire VR Cockpit

It is going first to Los Angeles and then we believe touring the country to promote a certain film about a certain French port! :) Today, it's looking even better and will post some more progress photos in due course. PC goes on a shelf at the back with room above for a keyboard and small monitor to...

Spitfire VR Cockpit

Back on Spitfires now and for the last three weeks we have been building a VR Spitfire cockpit with Occulus Rift for a customer in America. Instead of buying commercially available controls we are building our own and so far we have produced so far a lovely Spitfire control column, throttle box and ...

Re: From Simulators to Model Making

Good work, and that's a serious understatement!  What price range are buyers looking at, Martin? Tens of thousands? Hundreds? Thanks for the kind words. Are you sitting down? Prices go from about £60K for a basic airframe to £150K for a fully equipped example. It's the time taken to bu...

From Simulators to Model Making

Hello, Thought I would stop by and let you know what I am up to these days and show off my/our latest creation! Having given up home flight simulation after the release of the A2A T-6, I am now gainfully employed by Gateguards down at Newquay Airport who build Full Size Aircraft Models for films, TV...

Re: Happy Birthday Tomliner(72) and T6flyer(50) 10.3.17

Hello, Thanks to all for the Birthday wishes, so much appreciated. Instead of having the day off, am sat at work, looking at a 109E colour scheme and trying to work out a problem with a Spitfire II undercarriage leg. Love my job so much, something different every day. But, am not doing the role that...

Re: JF Hunter F.6 / FGA.9 announced

As you all know I was very much part of the A2A T-6 project and did a lot of the testing, modifying and reviewing based on my real life experiences with the type. I knew that some of us had time on the aeroplane, but some didn't and all problems were discussed and corrected where and when possible. ...

Re: Vertigo Grumman Avenger in P3D - info and opinions, plea

I've known Tony since the late 1980s and ground crewed on the Avenger for two years and then flew with him in his Harvard, Super Cub and Jet Provost. Wonderful, wonderful character and I fully recommend his book. Well worth a read. See I haven't gone, even though all my sim stuff has! :) Best wishes...
