Re: BA A380
Thats the first time I've seen the 747 described as having 'graceful lines'. I have to say that I always thought that the 747, particularly the shorter-hump 100/200 variants, was quite elegant and certainly simple. It is not, however, flattered by modern liveries and it never looked well in the BA ...

Re: ETPS RJ100
Reminded me of the old British United colours, but yes, the gold is closer to the Golden Speedbird.TSR2 wrote:The cheat line colours don't look too dissimilar to BOAC Golden Speedbird, never a bad thing. Thanks for that photo!

Re: ETPS RJ100
It's ex-Malmo Aviation RJ70 SE-DJP currently registered G-BVRJ. I don't think she's scheduled for service with QinetiQ until 2014 though.TSR2 wrote:They do look different don't they. I do think that's a smashing livery though. Has anyone seen any photos of the other 146 for QuinetQ?

Re: ETPS RJ100
They do have small wing roundels Gosh, very interesting! I saw one of these aircraft in Dublin last spring and it definitely didn't have the wing roundels. Perhaps it was in for repainting, thought at the time I wondered whether CityJet had the service contract for the aircraft as it was parked out...

Re: ETPS RJ100
I think once they stick a military registration on it by international law they have to stick national markings on it as well. Again, the 32 Sqn 146's don't have wing roundels, but do have low-visibility roundels incorporated into the fuselage stripes. So, that does reinforce your point: the milita...

Re: ETPS RJ100
I think that upper surface roundels would be visible - just about - in the picture I posted if present. The 32 Squadron 146's don't have wing roundels so I'd be a little surprised if this aircraft did.

ETPS RJ100
I was looking at this recent picture of the new QinetiQ/ETPS RJ100 taken at Leuchars. http://www.airplane-pictures.net/images/uploaded-images/2012-10/25/245389s.jpg Anyway, the thing that struck me was that the outer ring of the roundel appears too thin. Is this an example of dodgy signwriting or ...

Re: BUA VC10
British United ran a return service from Gatwick to Accra with the BAC One-Eleven, with stops at Lisbon, Las Palmas, Bathurst (now Banjul, Gambia) and Freetown and it's not surprising that VC10's on the way to South America would stop in one or other of these airports too. Runway length and high tem...

Re: Brawn GP
Before anybody say's it, I know Tyrrell were World Champions once but their world fell apart when Stewart retired and Cervert was killed. They never really recovered after that. Incidentally Tyrrell were my local team being based in Ockham, long before McLaren moved to Woking. Paul I think that's a...
