Re: The Ponds "Skunk Works"

According to the M-B website, Canberras were fitted with Mk 1C, Meteor F8 with Mk 1E. They have a photo & a Sketch, but no 3 view.

Re: The Ponds "Skunk Works"

M-B Seat was a Mk 1 - one puts ones feet onto stirrups to stop them flailing. The side plates are I think higher than a Mk 4 seat thats in JPs, Hunters etc, but it might be closer to a Canberras Mk 2 I think, if you have one of those. I think in the Mk 1 & possibly the 2 one sat on the parachute...

Re: The Ponds "Skunk Works"

I havn't found a picture of the underside of 800 or 453, for the Rad Alts - so forget that! But have remembered the antenna in front of windscreen - it was the 2nd Telecommand Rx which in Meteor parlance was called the Destroy receiver 'cos in the old (VHF ?) days the destroy Rx had a more sensitive...

Re: The Ponds "Skunk Works"

Rick - that is looking marvellous. Just needs the M-B seat headbox showing under the canopy. If you don't put the nose version of the S band transponder (you have put the tail one on) then its in its current state and as it left Llanbedr in 2004. I am not quite sure which antenna is which, but obvio...

Re: The Ponds "Skunk Works"

Rick, One more small thing - check the engine intake size - they look a bit small to me - we did have the large dia ones I believe for High Alt flying(?) or was it just for Derwent 9s.

Re: The Ponds "Skunk Works"

Rick, Like the colour screenshot very much - see you have all of the antennae except the nose & tail S band. Must admit that the nose one was taken off when we put a baby 2.4GHz spike just aft of the nosecone to transmit the TV pictures. When the B&W camera was installed it sat in the landin...

Re: The Ponds "Skunk Works"

Rick, I have quite a few photos in my library - what sort of shots do you need, & what info. Give me a PM of your e-mail address - I can then send with minimum compression possibly. Most are photos (film type) then digitised (scanned I suspect) & put onto a CD. I also have some digital photo...

Re: The Ponds "Skunk Works"

Unfortunately for me they are in FSDS format & to convert one apparently needs FSDS to convert to DXF, then Gmax will by all accounts accept DXF! So I am still at square 1 - well almost - I do have the majority of a U16 that I did for FMS, from which I think I can DXF it.
